Meet the new Mr. Maxwell: Scott Borgerson

At six-foot-four Scott Borgerson is a big guy. He’s also been married to alleged child trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell for some time. If we know anything about Ghislaine, it’s that she gravitates towards men who resemble her father. In temperament.

Ill-tempered men with a sadistic streak are the sort of guys she goes for. That she stood by and enabled Jeffrey Epstein for years says it better than any words I can string together. And, it’s quite possible the 6’4, dark haired Borgerson might be able fill the giant-sized shoes of her late father, Robert Maxwell.

Maxwell, dubbed the ‘Bouncing Czech,’ was known as much for his jet-black hair and imposing height of 6’3 as he was for his wild mood swings. One minute he could be charming and the next lethal. Some who knew him surmised he might have been bi-polar and claim he definitely had psychotic tendencies.

Scott Borgerson, 43, was the CEO of CargoMetrics – a shipping data company he founded in 2010 until a couple of months ago when he abruptly resigned. On October 2, 2020 Tradewinds broke the story that he stepped down as CEO of his company due to “intense media interest” surrounding his “rumored links with Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell”.

He has a net worth of approximately $100 million and will be putting up $25 million of a proposed $30 million bond to get Ghislaine Maxwell out of jail and home in time for Christmas (which, by the way is her 59th birthday). Her siblings will be contributing the additional $5 million. A second bail hearing is anticipated to be scheduled and heard on December 21, 2020.

I do not know Scott Borgerson and I do not know if he has the same psychotic tendencies as Robert Maxwell or Jeffrey Epstein, but I do know he frequently told people, including his neighbors, that he aspired to become President of the United States. Having married Ghislaine Maxwell, he can probably scratch this off his wish-list.

Further, the Daily Mail reported that when Scott Borgerson’s marriage to his first wife Rebecca ended in 2014, divorce records included accusations of him being “physically violent, abuse. ‘extremely controlling’ and having an alcohol problem”. In May 2001 he allegedly threatened Rebecca, saying: ‘Don’t make me beat you in front of the children.’

The way Borgerson broke the news to his wife that their marriage was over was to send her a video of himself and Ghislaine hugging and kissing. This is dark and more than hints at sadism. It’s also the sort of behavior Maxwell knows and loves. What a man.

While he’d told Rebecca he would be in London on business – when she received the video and watched it, along with her two young children, she realized he was actually in Miami with Ghislaine. Things rapidly deteriorated because on June 15, 2014 Borgerson physically attacked her and was charged with assault and domestic battery (according to court documents).

Some of Ghislaine’s victims allege she gets a “thrill” to know she’s caused someone else pain. The thought of Scott’s wife receiving the video of them smooching like teenagers must have made Ghislaine giddy.

The duo, according to a reliable source, were married abroad.

It wasn’t until Maxwell was arrested and had a bail hearing on July 14, 2020 that the world learned she had acquired a “husband”.

I live tweeted the court proceedings that day. And, oddly, when US prosecutor Alison Moe claimed Maxwell was married and had a husband whose identity she refused to reveal there was sudden static on the line. It was almost like we’d heard something we weren’t supposed to hear. Many of on us listening in on the conference call weren’t sure what was said exactly. I thought I’d misheard and didn’t tweet it out until later.

However, it was confirmed. Ghislaine Maxwell had a husband and no one knew his name. Not even the court. The news practically melted the twittersphere. Who? Who? Who? Guesses ranged from the now deceased Jeffrey Epstein to Prince Andrew. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

I immediately recalled she’d gone house hunting with an assumed identity and a “husband” named Scott in tow. So, I tweeted the following:

In my soon to be released book ‘Ghislaine Maxwell: An Unauthorized Biography’, I write:

‘The real estate agent who was interrogated by the FBI said the couple who purchased the home identified themselves as Scott and Jen Marshall. Both had British accents. Scott Marshall had explained to her he was retired from the British military and was currently working on a book. Jen described herself as a journalist. The older couple explained they wanted to purchase the property quickly through a “wire and were setting up an LLC”. They seemed to her like a “nice couple”. It was only after the sale that the real estate agent, having seen a photograph of Ghislaine Maxwell, realized that “Jen” was in fact Ghislaine.’

Through property records I was able to find that Scott Borgerson, Christine Maxwell (Ghislaine’s sister), and Jeffrey W. Roberts were the sole trustees of company named ‘Angara’ that owns a property located at 27 Chestnut Street, Unit 3A, Boston, Mass. As it turns out the condo is Scott’s “second home” to be close to his office in Boston. On September 10, 2018 Christine Maxwell and Jeffrey Roberts delegated their powers to Borgerson (see image of deed below) – who is now the sole owner. Jeffrey W. Roberts is the also the attorney who manages Granite Reality LLC (the company used to purchase the ultra-secluded home, Tuckedaway, in New Hampshire where Ghislaine was hiding when she was arrested by the FBI). The same Boston attorney, Jeffrey W. Robert, is also the registered agent of another company associated with Borgerson named ‘Hopely Yealton’.

Greg Olear, who publishes a wonderful newsletter called ‘Prevail’ wrote a detailed article after my tweet. It’s a deep dive on Scott Borgerson and can be found here:

It should be noted that Christine Maxwell is the co-founder (with her twin sister Isabel) of Chiliad. Chiliad is a software used by the FBI to store data. It’s also used for surveillance by the NSA via their Hewlett Packard servers post 9/11.

One might ask what does Scott Borgerson see in a woman who has been accused of raping children? Perhaps he sees the same thing Jeffrey Epstein saw: a long list of contacts with the wealthiest and most powerful people in the world. Contacts that have allegedly been compromised and would “owe” her something.

It seems clear Ghislaine Maxwell did not leave the United States for safer shores because of her husband: Scott Borgerson. It is now up to him to repay the favor. He is doing so now at the cost of his business, his children and $25 million.
